Michael Shirley, a professor of history at Eastern Illinois University, has written three blog posts about Winston Churchill for the The Midnight Freemasons website. The first post, “Winston Churchill: Operative or Speculative?,”  discusses Churchill being initiated as a mason in 1901, the second post, “The Words And Wisdom of Winston Churchill,” covers Churchill quotations, and the third post, “The Other Club,” recounts the formation of the dining club established by Churchill and F.E. Smith in 1911. In the last post Shirley writes that while Churchill “preferred to talk about himself. At meetings of the Other Club he was able to listen as well.”
