Ten of Winston Churchill’s paintings will be on display in the exhibit “Passion for Painting: The Art of Winston Churchill” held aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California from May 27 to December 31, 2016. The paintings will include his “Coast Scene Near Marseilles,” which was an oil on canvas painted in the 1930s as well as his painting of his daughter Diana completed in 1922 and his painting of the Palazzo Vecchio in 1951. The exhibit will also include several artifacts from the National Churchill Museum. The Los Angeles Times recently had an article on the exhibit as well as Churchill’s life as a painter, while the Queen Mary website has information on the exhibit as well as a 13-minute video on Churchill and the ship.
