A new movie set during World War II featuring the Scottish actor Brian Cox in the title role of Winston Churchill has begun filming in Scotland. The film centers on the tense 48 hours that preceded the D-Day landings on June 6, 1944. Cox, who joins Richard Burton among other actors to have portrayed Churchill, remarks that, “I am looking forward to bringing this iconic but complex figure to life – it’s the role of a lifetime for me.” Photographs of Cox in costume as Churchill from the set of the movie are available from the Daily Mail.
